Profile

Hello, I'm Selvin, a U.S. Army retiree, Gulf War veteran, and educator. I began operating Junctions in Hampton, Virginia in 2007, and Sebring, Florida in 2015. Through Junctions I provide individuals and businesses with photography and videography services; and promote cultural appreciation. 

1984 - Present

Graduating in 1984 from Miami Killian Senior High School, Miami, Florida, I hold a Master of Science in Instructional Design from Saint Leo University, Saint Leo, Florida.  I have served as a U.S. Army Instructor (military and civilian); Teacher, The Vanguard School, Lake Wales, Florida; Guest Instructor, Virginia State University's Professional Development Program; Board Member, City of Hampton, Virginia Wetlands Board; and President, Northampton Civic League.

Previous and current clients include Continental; General Motors; the City of Hampton, Virginia; Military Officers Association of America; Florida Division of Arts and Culture; Avon Park, Florida Baseball Museum; NAACP Highlands County, Florida Chapter; the Florida Medal of Honor Memorial Park; and countless other enterprises and individuals.

Skills

Drawing from my military training, experiences, and service as a Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI) trained Equal Opportunity Advisor, I continue the educational advancement of and advocacy for cultural diversity. Through historical research, exhibitions, pedagogical influences, and archival preservation, I help ensure the experiences and contributions of local Negro and African Americans, and the American diaspora are preserved and shared for generations to come.
